Camps and Clinics
Fortune Fencing FOIL & SABER SOCAL MINI-CAMPSIn preparation for the Jr and Sr PCCs and Nationals, Mike D'Asaro Jr. and I, Al Carter, will hold mini- camps at Fortune Fencing (in Pasadena), on the weekends before these events. The focus will be bouting, footwork, and strength. These can be great bouting days if we get a mix of fencers from various clubs. Please share the info with club members. Please see the attached flyer for details, and feel free to contact me, if you have any questions. Hopefully, we have a great turnout and a stronger showing at both of these west coast events! Thank you. Al Carter
The sport of fencing has a long and distinguished history dating back hundreds of years. Fencing is one of the original sports from the first Olympic games of modern times in 1896. Today, Olympic-style sport fencing offers participants an excellent physical and mental workout. All of our camps use group and individual instruction to help participants improve their skills in a fun and supportive setting. The Beginning Camp is intended for children aged 8-14 with little or no fencing experience. Games and exercises will be used to teach basic fencing, team work, and problem solving skills. The Foil, Epee and Sabre Camp is a full day training session for experienced fencers aged 8-19. Topics covered will include: Strategy, conditioning, mental preparedness, scorekeeping, refereeing, videotaped bouting, lessons, and equipement repair. Minimum 1 year fencing experience required or consent of coaches. DATES, TIMES & COST: Beginning Camp - Half day,
$225 Foil, Epee, Sabre Camp - Full day, $450 To receive a registration form please call or
